T-Minus 16 hours, 43 min, 12 seconds

Tonneka had her final appoint with the doc today followed by a pre-op briefing at the hospital. We’re a go for tomorrow folks! I can’t believe it’s been 9 months!!

T-Minus 18 hours

Timeline

We check in at around 10:30am with the main attraction kicking off at 12:30. According to the overly friendly (sketchy) nurse the surgery should take less then 30 min. 30 freakin min, how’s that for drive thru service? After junior makes his entrance (exit?), husband and kid get dragged off for shots, tests and a bath. Tonneka will remain behind, get stitched up and wheeled into the recovery room. After about an hour or so we make our way to the post partum room where thank the technology gods, there is wireless internet. Our best guess at this point for visiting is around 3:00pm. We should be at the hospital through Sunday, possibly Monday.

Visitors

The hospital does not encourage guests in the recovery room, but to avoid the in-laws rioting in the waiting area, guests are allowed in one at a time. When we move on into the PP room, the parade of visitors can start.

I will be posting play-by-play all weekend long (with pics). So if anyone can’t make the visit, check our site often.

Visiting hours are 8:00am – 8:00pm.

Tonneka and Scrappy 17 weeks

Here I am at 17 weeks. As you can see, Scrappy is gaining some sympathy weight. We’ve agreed that he will pose with me each time I take a photo…just so I don’t feel so alone.

 Tonneka 16 wks

I am struggling to stay focused on projects at home – seems that I work for an hour or so and get tired, hungry, or distracted with other things. I take cat naps when I can and am definitely eating more! Luckily I do have enough energy to get out on walks every day during the week with a friend at work. Unfortunately though, that hasn’t prevented my chest or arms from growing at an incredible rate. I feel like I am wearing water wings! So much for the guns I used to have…

WifeJim is coping quite well with it all too. Being very helpful around the house and being patient with my tossing and turning in the night and multiple trips to the bathroom.

We bought a Wii this week. This was strategic and “for the baby”, you know, to encourage the development of hand eye coordination. tee, hee.

Today we received our test results for the triple screen. Relief! All results came back normal. Till next time!

P.S. Correction on hubby’s previous post, the next appointment is at 19.5 weeks, on April 10th. It will be the 3D ultrasound in which we will find out the sex of the baby. This time Doc assured me we’d find out!

Boy or Girl?

An overly hyped doctors’ appointment (by Tonneka) turned out not to provide any indication what so ever of the sex.  In fact all indications from the doctor suggested we we’re crazy for thinking the sex could be determined at 16 weeks.  <SIGH> The highlight of the appointment was listening to the heart beat. Next attempt 21 weeks.
